Jewellery design beginners (Thursday morning)

This 7 week programme will show you how to create jewellery using a variety of techniques. You will be taught in a friendly workshop from 9.30-12.30. You will be shown in weeks 1-3 how to cut shape and solder wire and sheet material. This will involve learning to use jewellery tools and techniques such as ring making, granulation, applying texture to metal, polishing, pickling among others. In weeks 4-5 you will put into practice the skills that you have learnt to create your individual prototype designs. Finally you will refine your ideas to create a unique piece of silver jewellery. There is a maximum of 6 students on this course which will allow you to be supported throughout. This attentive approach will encourage your individual creative ideas and development.
